Our middle school program is specifically designed to prepare students for the rigorous high school classes they will face at St. Dom's in grades 9 – 12.  Middle school classes focus on establishing organizational skills, problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, and study skills within each content area.   Teaching and learning is planned to provide support and paced to maintain increasing levels of difficulty in the areas of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.  Middle School students who are advanced in math have the opportunity to take high school-level Algebra I in eighth grade.

Each class period is a 40-minute well-structured and interactive session that meets daily.  Enrichment classes such as Phys Ed, Art, Music, Spanish, and/or French take place in the last period of the day and alternate according to a Black and White schedule.  The day will switch between a BLACK and WHITE day and cover 4 periods each day. In addition to their classes, all students have a break, lunch, and recess. Schedules may be adjusted for Mass days, early dismissal days, or any other need, which will be communicated through the student/parent portal.
