Congratulations on a wonderful year

Let's celebrate our successes!

Dear families,

As our 75th anniversary year draws to a close, I would take the opportunity to reflect on the many memorable and exciting experiences for our children with which God has blessed us.  During this time we introduced the STREAM concept, aligned and sequenced our curricula across all grades, and implemented blended learning.  These are research-based, best practice approaches to teaching that are engaging our students in new and innovative ways. We are seeing wonderful results with academic growth in our students.

We had a lot of fun along the way, too.   This year we added 3D printers at the Lewiston campus, expanded the music program, and revved up our robotics program.  We embraced our internal and external community during our first Winter Carnival and fostered faith with retreats for each grade.

Plans are already underway for our next academic year. I would like to share with you the following expected enhancements:

  • We are reconfiguring the school day at the Auburn campus to increase the number of classroom hours.
  • We’re introducing the team teaching approach at the middle school for a personalized learning experience.
  • We will continue to grow our virtues-based restorative practices to reinforce kind and respectful behaviors.
  • The principals are starting a blog to keep you informed of happenings at the campuses and to give you a taste of what our students’ day is like.
  • Students at the Lewiston campus will have more opportunities to participate in sports.
  • Our new field at the Auburn campus will be ready for action in time for spring sports.
  • We are launching an eat well, grow strong initiative in Lewiston, with the help of our friends at St. Mary’s. The program will teach our students the importance of establishing healthy eating habits.

Coming soon…

In January, we launched our Strategic Plan – a three-year road map to success. In the coming weeks, we’ll outline the progress we’ve made so far and look ahead to what we expect to accomplish during the 2017-18 academic year. The complete Strategic Plan is available on our website.

Also, our principals will be sending information home about important dates you’ll want to put on your calendar now, as well as where to find summer work assignments and school supply lists. So, be on the look out for this information.

Thank you for entrusting your children to us. Our families, staff, and faculty have a common goal: to provide an inspiring and nurturing learning environment where our children can grow and flourish.

We wish you all a joyous summer.  We hope you are able to have quality time with your families.

Many blessings,

Don Fournier
